Zong Liang
I was born in Taiwan. Growing up we had no electronics, no TV, no video games, no cellphones, no computers, and no friends were allowed in the house. So, what’s a little girl to do? Yes, that’s right. I watched and played with ants and other small critters. At the age of 9, I immigrated to the United States with my parents and brother. I spoke almost no English. My high school art teacher sparked my love for art. However, because I wanted to be able to pay rent and eat, I graduated with a math degree. I worked as an engineer until I was pregnant with my 3rd child. Then my heart ached to be a full-time mom. So, I became a stay-at-home mom of our 8 children. During that time, I sketched many panels of 2 comic strips inspired by our 8 children. I spent close to 40 years raising them. It is the most satisfying and rewarding thing I will ever do in my life.
